"3rd St., Looking West, Los Angeles," Adolf Freese, ca. 1900s. The view is from the intersection with Spring Street, looking towards Bunker Hill. Pedestrians, horse-drawn vehicles, commercial buildings from two to about six stories, streetcars and tracks, and power lines are notable. In the distance is the 3rd Street tunnel, Angels Flight Railway, and the railway's observation tower atop the hill. The title is written in ink on the reverse. With much soiling, especially on the mount, abrasions and reverse stains, the condition is good overall.Lexicon
