"4. Main Street, North From Fourth St.," Pierce and Blanchard, Los Angeles, ca. 1890. The photographer stood on the west side of Main looking toward Third. At the left is the fencing and some landscaping of the Isaias W. Hellman property and other residential property is on the west side further up Main. On the east side are two and three-story structures that appear to be all commercial with residential upper floors. Some construction material is in the street north of Third at the right. There are also some pedestrians in view. The number "3" is in pencil at the top and there are three "x" marks where the Hellman estate and the one to the north is. With some soiling, edge rubbing to the mount, and a few stains, the overall condition is good.
