"41. Grounds of O. W. Childs, Main and Eleventh Streets," Pierce and Blanchard, Los Angeles, early 1890s. The view is from a wide walk on the expansive grounds of the home of the prominent nurseryman and businessman. Large trees, cacti, lawns, walks and bushes and shrubs comprise the landscape, while the houe is largely hidden by a tree in the distance at the left. Ink marks with a "4" and what looks like a "p" are written on the image. The photographer's cartouche is on the reverse and their name and address on the front along with the phrase "Gardens of Los Angeles and Vicinity in Midwinter." With some stains, soiling, and edge abrasions, the condition is fair overall.
