A real photo postcard, "43. Glenn Curtiss Breaking Speed Record," Dominguez Air Meet, Los Angeles, January 1910. The image shows the aviator in his craft flying not far above a packed crowd in a grandstand at the nation's first aviation contest, held at the Dominguez Ranch in modern Compton from 10-20 January. A message dated 5 March is unrelated and there are no stamps. With warping, light browning and soiling, the condition is good overall.
