"452. Under the Willows, Middle Ranch, Santa Catalina Isl.," C. B. Waite, ca. 1890s. The view is from the shade of a large tree or grouping of them and takes in an open area on which a few sheep graze. In the distance are portions of a hillside.
"465. An Hour's Sport at Catalina, Isl, Eel Fish," C. B. Waite, ca. 1890s. The view shows a man sitting on an overturned canoe on the rocky beach at Avalon. In front of the camera on supports made of canoe paddles are hangina variety of fish, lobsters and eels. In the background are some of the structures along the front, including a small part of the old Metropole Hotel, the Avalon Home, a pavilion and others, while mountains rise in the distance.
In both cases, there is some light soiling and minimal edge rubbing and the condition is good.
