PHOTOGRAPH, CABINET CARD, "47. BELLEVUE TERRACE, PEARL ST.," by Lemuel S. Ellis, Los Angeles, ca. 1880s. The image, taken from a corner of an intersection shows three houses in the Queen Anne-style, the facades of two of which are obscured by large banana palms and sago palm trees, while the home on the right is largely unobscured. In the foreground, standing at the corner of the wall next to the corner home is a man. The street name and neighborhood name has changed, so the area is now called Angelino Heights, though the street name is not known (perhaps Bellevue Terrace Avenue.) On the reverse is an ink inscription of the title and Ellis' stamp. Aside from mild yellowing, chipped edges, and curvature of the mount, the condition is good.Lexicon
