Description
"530. Southern Pacific Mammoth Wharf / 4700 Feet Long / Port Los Angeles, Cal.," H. F. Rile, ca. 1895. Apparently standing on a bluff, Rile captures the wharf curving out into the ocean from the beach. There are double sets of railroad tracks on the wharf, on which there are trains, including one steaming back toward the beach. There appear to be several ships anchored just off either side of the wharf's end. With some stains and soiling on the image and damage to the corners of the mount, the condition is fair.
