"SECONDARY EDUCATION IN CALIFORNIA: REPORT OF A PRELIMINARY SURVEY" Color: Brown; Black "Secondary Education in California: Report of a Preliminary Survey," by the California State Department of Education, 1929. The 128-page report has the department's name at the top, the report's title at the center, and the state logo and publishing information. Contents include chapters on a summary and recommndations section; on the growth and popularization of secondary education in the state; a description of the types of districts and schools; how higher education affects secondary schools; on students; on curricula; on teaching staff; and on financial problems. There is an appendix of tables on school enrollment by county for the year 1926-27 in various comparative formats. There is also a tipped in schematic suggesting the organization of school systems. With cover rubbing; some page acid burns; slight bulging on the covers; creases on the cover; discoloration; folds on the top edge of the spine; ink notations by a previous owner, whose name is on the cover and title page; scratches on page edges; and stains on the cover, the overall condition is good.
