"Mineral Resources of the States and Territories West of the Rocky Mountains," Rossiter W. Raymond (Washington, D. C.: Government Printing Office,) 1869. The writer was a special commissioner of mining statistics for the Department of the Treasury and devoted attention to general mining conditions in California, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Utah, and the isthmus of Panama, as well as discussing mining law and education. An appendix covers bullion and ore statistics from San Francisco for the year 1868. There are many tables and charts and a few illustrations.
