Description

Color: Brown; Gold "Souvenir of Los Angeles and Vicinity," (Dayton: Ward Bros., 1887), 21 pp. The book has a brown hardcover with an ornate gold embossed border on the front. At the center of the front, also in gold, is the title. Included within are fourteen pages of images of streets; buildings; attractions; agricultural fields; native plants and animals; missions; beaches; hotels; and more. Seven pages with a brief history and description of the city and region are at the end. In poor condition, the object has many abrasions; a brittle spine; dented corners; soiling; discoloration; fading of the gold lettering; a pen marking on the inside; and overall wear.
