2025.191.1.1Description
A cabinet card photograph, "89. Bellevue Terrace, Pearl St., Cor. Sixth," C.C. Pierce, Los Angeles, 1890s. The image shows the hostelry located at what is now Figueroa and 6th streets and which opened in 1884. Large sago palm trees in the front yard obscure much of the three-part edifice, with portions of the tower roofs and other sections visible. The building was razed four decades later. On the reverse is printed information on Pierce's Tourist View Depot, located across from the Plaza where the La Plaza Cultura y Artes museum is now. With light fading, small stains and light soiling, with edge bumping and slight warping to the matte, the condition is good.
