Description

Color: Brown; Black; White "Harvard Lampoon: Class Day 1928," by Harvard Lampoon, Inc., 1928. The front cover has the title at the top with an caricature of an elderly professor listening to a student through an ear horn. At the lower left of the cartoon are the initials of the artist, with the date June 7, 1928 at the lower left and the price of twenty-five cents at the lower right. The publication features many jokes and humorous articles about Harvard University and includes many black-and-white cartoon illustrations. The articles and sections mock student and faculty life, as well as other Ivy League schools, such as Yale. Dozens of advertisements for cigarettes, clothes, automobiles and other items of interest for college-age men are throughout the document. Thomas W. Temple II had just completed his third year of study at Harvard Law School when the issue was produced. In good condition, the artifact has spine abrasions, slight discoloration of some pages, foxing on the back cover, and a small tear at the right of the front cover.
