"Orange Tree in fruit , Los Angeles, Cal," ca. 1870s. The image is a closeup of a relatively young tree with clusters of fruit upon it in the midst of a grove. The title is written in ink on the reverse. There is, however, no photographer's cartouche or information of any kind aside from the inscription. The kind of mount is consistent with the 1870s, but the square photograph might indicate a middle to later date during that decade. With slight curvature of the mount, some light soiling, liquid stains on the reverse edge, and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
