2009.188.1.1Description
"93. The Bell Tower, San Gabriel Mission," by Pierce and Blanchard, Los Angeles, 1890s. The cabinet card photo, taken from across Mission Drive from the tower, church and rectory, all of which are partially or fully in view, also shows a women seated on the stone foundation beneath the belfry, a white picket fence in front of the rectory and pepper trees planted on both sides of the street, in front of the church and in front of the rectory. The series title, "Gardens of Los Angeles and Vicinity in Midwinter," and the firm's name and address are at the bottom. More company information is on the reverse, as well. With some small stains, a creased lower right corner, and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
