Description

A black and white cabinet card photograph of a broom delivery wagon, Western Foto Company, Los Angeles, ca. 1900s. Taken at the intersection of streets in a residential area, the image shows the vehicle loaded with dozens of brooms and driven by a young man with the reins attached to a single dark-colored horse. Lettering on the side reads "Standard Wooden . . ." though the remainder is cut-off by the rear wheel and there is an address of 230-234 Los Angeles and phone numbers painted on, as well. A portion of a home is in the background and the photographer's stamp, apparently successor to the Garden City Foto Company at the same East Fifth Street address, is on the reverse. With soiling on the image and soiling, stains, chipping and rubbing to the matte, the overall condition is fair.
