Description
A black and white, cabinet studio portrait of a man in what appears to be a waiter's uniform, Dove and Moeller, Los Angeles, ca. late 1890s. The full-length view shows the young man with a close shaven hear and wearing a white coat and white apron or gown over dark trousers. He also wears a white shirt with a high collar and, perhaps, a bow tie. His right hand rests on a shawl-covered chair and there is an animal-skin rug on the floor in front of a backdrop. With extensive soiling, foxing, stains, yellowing of the image, and abrasions, the condition is fair.
