Description
A black and white cabinet studio portrait of two children, Galeria de la Plaza (James B. Blanchard,) Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The two are standing next to studio props and are a boy about five years old and one probably under two. The boy on the left wears a double-breasted coast with shirt-sleeves rolled over the coat sleeves. He has short pants, high laced boots, dark stockings and a large plaid bow tie. The younger child, likely a boy, has little hair and wears a dark colored knee-length dress and a large white bow tie. Blanchard's studio cartouche is at the bottom. With an adhesive mark on the upper right of the reverse, minor soiling and minor abrasions, and some fading, the overall condition is good.
