A black and white, large format cabinet photograph of Garrett and Emma Eustace in front of his Los Angeles plumbing business, 5 September 1903. The proprietor wears dark trousers, vest and hat, and a white shirt, while his daughter wears a dark skirt with a white front, a white blouse with puffed sleeves and a white hat with long white ribbons flowing down over her clothes and a black bow on it. There is lettering on the storefront windows and a sign over the entrance. Eustace, from Ireland, lived in New York City, served for the Union Army in the Civil War and married and raised his family in West Virginia before moving to Los Angeles and running his plumbing business, probably near Central Avenue and 10th Street. His daughter Emma, nee Cupp, later lived on East Tenth with her husband, who ran a fuel and feed business. With moderate fading, loss possibly due to rodent damage, abrasions and warping, the photo is in fair condition.
