Description

A black and white photo of the Howell Building, Los Angeles, ca. 1920s. The three-story building with a cast stone front has the name "Howell" at the top and signs for the Sierra Paper Company and J.K. Hornbein Company on it. A two-story structure is at the left and portions of two other two-story buildings are in view, as are cars and trucks parked at the curb. The J.K. Hornbein Company was at 132-34 N. Los Angeles Street in 1921, so it is assumed this is the location of the Howell Building. A blue pencil inscription reading, "No. 4," is on the reverse. With soiling and minor abrasions, the overall condition is good.
