Description

A black and white photograph of Alice and Yvette sitting on a bench at a San Francisco pier, ca. 1920s. The two young women are seated on a wooden bench at a pier, possibly the Fisherman's Wharf in the Bay area. They both grin and smile at the camera. Both wear dresses and low heeled shoes. Behind them are three men sitting on the bench on the other side wearing fedora hats. The ocean is visible in the background. Toward the far left, a partial view of a cruise ship's smoke stacks and second level can be seen. The two women are in other photographs within the acquisition. An inscription written in blue ink identifies the two women and location on the reverse of the image. With minor warping, mirroring, and photographer's stamps of "16" and "ANDERSON/PHOTO SERVICE/EL MONTE, CALIF." It is in good condition.
