Description

A black and white photograph of an unidentified woman standing in the West Lawn of La Casa Nueva, ca. 1920s. The same young woman photographed with Thomas in photo (2021.3.6.209) is posed on her own in the West Lawn of La Casa Nueva. She appears to be in her early twenties. She wears a dark hat, light colored sleevless dress, a belt, light colored stockings, and shoes. The hem of her dress has fringe. She has her left arm on her waist while her other arm is across her abdomen. She stands in the West Lawn, in front of stone planters from which many plants are in bloom. Also, parts of the pillars and the Mission Walkway with ivy and other shrubbery are visible. There is a also a tall tree, possibly a sycamore near the unknown woman. With minor warping, pencil marking on the reverse and photographer's stamp of "VELOX" and "60" it is in good condition.
