Description

A black and white photograph of La Casa Nueva Courtyard before the fountain was installed, ca. 1922-27. In view is the Courtyard with a pile of soil and a shovel lying on top of it. Above that is the fountain base or reservoir though the mill stones have not been installed. La Casa Nueva seems to be fully constructed. The left portico has a large porch swing, and the right portico shows what appears to be a chest of drawers with various plants on it. On the second floor are the wooden beams on both the west and east patio areas. The center of the roof shows the solar panels which helped to heat the water for the second floor bathrooms with use of a special heater most likely installed by a local company. With minor soiling on the reverse and a penciled number "39" written on the back, it is in good condition.
