A black and white photograph of oil wells in an open plain near Los Angeles, ca. 1904. The view shows about a half-dozen derricks and small sheds in an area with no other structures or cultivated fields. Blurring in the foreground might mean the image was taken from a vehicle. With some light soiling and a few small stains, the condition is good.
