Description

A black and white photograph shows Walter Temple Sr., standing with unidentified men in front of a tin roof building, ca. 1920s. The image was possibly taken during the same time as an other image in the acquisition (#2021.3.6.339). Four men stand to the left and Walter Sr. is at the far right. Two other men either sit or squat in front of the them but the image cuts off just below their waists. All men wear hats, some have on ties. The man standing third from left holds a candle, Walter Sr., leans on a cane and the men at the forefront hold handles to some tools. Behind them is a shanty type of structure with windows, and a tin roof. There is tent toward the far right and a mountain further back. Perhaps this is the same area pictured near a mine shaft of some kind, as shown in the other photo mentioned above. With a Kodak photographer's stamp on the reverse, suggesting the negative was printed out later years, during the 1961-1970, it is in good condition overall.
