Description
A black and white real photo postcard, "Gathering Eggs, L.A. Ostrich Farm," ca. 1920s. The image shows a young woman, perhaps in her twenties, holding a wheelbarrow loaded with large ostrich eggs. Behind her, in a fenced pen filled with several varieties of trees, are some birds. The fence appears to be made of wood. On the reverse of the unused card in pencil is "Werra" The location is almost certainly the ostrich farm near Lincoln Park in Lincoln Heights. With some extensive soiling, small stains at the top and reverse, minor warping, and abrasions, the condition is good overall.
