Description
A black and white, real photo postcard of Angelus Hospital, Los Angeles, postmarked 17 May 1909. The view is from across the street and shows the three-story Greek Revival structure, designed by John C. Austin, with its projecting center block and its entrance with massive columns and stairs, two levels with projecting bays on the sides and quoins at the corners. Small trees and other landscaping indicate the facility was recently completed (it was finished in early 1905). The message on the reverse noted the writer had just taken an assistant superintendent position at the hospital, which was at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Trinity Street. With minor soiling, abrasions and discoloration, the overall condition is good.
