Description
A black and white real photo postcard of the south elevation of Mission San Gabriel, dated 4 December 1905. The view is taken from across Mission Drive and slightly west of the old stone church, the majority of which, including its belfry, is largely obscured by palm and other trees planted next to the road. A long wooden barrier, used probably for streetcar tours (note the tracks in the street) is also in view. There is a message on the margins to the left of and below the image and is addressed to a Mabel from Flosrie. With extensive soiling, stains, creases and rubbing, the overall condition is fair.
