Description

A black and white snapshot of Broadway looking south from about Temple Street, Los Angeles, 1929. Notable elements include streetcars, automobiles and pedestrians along the street; a building in construction; the tower of the old city hall; part of the Chamber of Commerce structure; and others. The steal beams that make up the skeletal frame of a sky scrapper is toward the far left. Over the street are decorations for the Shriners, whose convention was in the city in 1929, hence the assigned date. With minimal soiling and rubbing, the condition is good.
