2013.683.1.1Description
A black and white stereoscopic photograph of "204. Giant Cactus," Garden City Foto Co., Los Angeles, ca. 1900s. A man wears a dark vest and trousers, white shirt, white necktie, and a light colored hat with a dark band. He stands on a driveway within a fenced property, probably a house. Next to the man, who is undoubtedly there for scale, is a tall cactus of perhaps near fifteen feet height along with other cacti and a power or telephone pole. The photographer's cartouche is on the reverse. With extensive soiling, fading, loss due to silverfish damage, abrasions, small stains and major rubbing, the condition is fair.Lexicon
