Description

A greeting card dated 16 May 1868. The item has a paper lace border and raised floral bouquets on a gold paper around an oval image of the Virgin Mary and Christ child. At the bottom is the ink inscription "James" and the date, while on the verso is a message to a wife from a husband, the date and a place name, "Hartleport," which appears to be near Lincoln, England. With abrasions to the gold covering and some light soiling, the overall condition is good.
