Description

A Burr Creamery milk bottle, Los Angeles, ca. 1926. The one-pint glass bottle has a wide mouth and, on one side, the embossed wording "ONE PINT / LIQUID / BURR / LOS ANGELES," with the latter two parts being enclosed in a circle. On the bottom below are the words, "W.C. C. Co.," presumably the manufacturer. Burr Creamery, founded by Scots-born Ebenezer Burr in Los Angeles in 1901, was located at Eighth and Towne in the 1920s and had a 20-acre dairy in Vernon. The company was bought out by the California Cooperative Creamery Company, which formed in 1927, by 1928. The item is in good overall condition.
