Description
A cabinet card "154. Picking Oranges at Santa Ana," James B. Blanchard, ca. 1890s. There are seven men in the foreground gathered near piled oranges on the ground and others in crates, with one man standing on a ladder next to a tree. Another man is at the reins of a horse-drawn wagon in the background. Four of the men appear to be field workers and all look to be Asian, while the other men are white. Several trees are in view with taller ones, perhaps eucalypti for wind breaks, are in the distance. Blanchard's cartouche is on the reverese. With mount curvature, slight soiling and some edge abrasion, the overall condition is good.
