2011.294.1.1Description
A cabinet card, "Date Plam, Los Angeles," from Lemuel S. Ellis, ca. 1885. The image is of a residential yard with the palm tree at the center. It sits amidst a lawn which has an irrigation valve and there are shrubs, bushes, and other trees, including some cypresses, around it. On the reverse is the title in ink, a pencil inscription reading "Mrs. Schull from Mrs. Thorpe," and Ellis's stamp. With some small stains, foxing, soiling, and edge abrasions, the overall condition is good.
