Description
A cabinet card photo by Godfrey, Workman House from north elevation, ca. 1870s. The view shows the northside of the home with possibly William Workman and family shown. Wood shingles cover the roof which also has a brick chimney on the top far left and right, molded brackets lining the bottom edge. There is a triple-fronted window with a rounded cornice: three mouldings on each cornice arch; brackets on either side. William Workman stands on the third step of the porch facing the left and wears a dark suit with hat. Below the porch steps are two women in long skirts holding infants in their arms; a little boy to the right; two men in hats and coats stand on the far right. At the left foreground is a wall and bushes and a field of wheat and rose bush. A few trees and a wood structure with a pitched roof can be seen on the left. With heavy discoloration, creases, tears, losses, and accretions, the object is in poor condition.
