Description
A cabinet card photo of Manuel Zuniga (1854-1928) and Lucinda Temple Zunga (1860-1928) posed for a Lorenz studio portrait, Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. Manuel is standing next to Lucinda with his left hand resting on the back of her shoulder. He wears a three piece suit with a tie. On the far left appears to be a statue though it could be part of the studio backdrop. Lucinda sits on a wicker chair and wears a floral pattern, silk dress with a high collar, and puffy shoulders, also known as gigot sleeves which is a French word describing the shape of an animal's hind quarters. The gigot was fashionable during the 1820s but became popular fashion again during the 1890s. An inscription on the reverse written in blue ink identifies Manuel and Lucinda as Tio and Tia which means Aunt and Uncle in Spanish. The photographer's name, Lorenz and location is printed on the bottom of the image. With minor discoloration the image is in good condition
