Description

A cabinet card photograph, "182. Calla Lily Field. Ten Thousand Blossoms," probably Los Angeles, ca. 1890s. The image shows two men in an aisle between two rows of several with a profusion of blooming plants. Behind the field and between it and another is a horse-drawn conveyance. On the ditance are a row of what appear to be eucalyptus trees, perhaps planted as a wind break. The caption is at the lower left but no identification as to the photographer, though it may be the Garden City Foto Company, as the caption looks like that used by the firm. The photo is clean and the mount has missing pieces at corners, light soiling, and some creases, so the overall condition is fair.
