Description

A cabinet card photograph, "23 The Plaza, Looking South," J. B. Blanchard and Company, Los Angeles, ca. 1890. The view is taken from the northeast part of the Plaza, with its wrought-ron fence, manicured lawns, plants, potted plants, bushes, shurbs and walkways. At the far right is the Plaza Church, while left of center is the Brunswig Drug Company structures, and at the far left is part of the Pico House, some of which is obscured by a tree in the Plaza. The series and company names are printed at the bottom of the matte. The company has printed information on the reverse and its address, which was very close to the scene. With foxing, abrasions, stains, soiling and adhesive marks just above the Plaza Church, the condition is fair.
