A cabinet card photograph, "52 — The Raymond and 'Old Baldy' from Garvanza," by Jarvis, Pasadena, ca. 1890. The image is taken from a field in what is now a residential area of Garvanza, a neighborhood in northeast Los Angeles, and looks northeast. Behind a few homes, atop Raymond Hill, is the Raymond Hotel at center. Beyond that is the San Gabriel Mountains, including the snow-topped Mount San Antonio (or Mount Baldy.) The caption is at the lower left and, on the lower part of the mount is the photographer's name and location. With minor warping, edge abrasions, and some soiling, the condition is good.Lexicon
