Description
A cabinet card photograph, "60. Century Plant," Los Angeles, Stanton and Burdick, ca. 1889. The view shows the century plan's spiky leaves close to the ground and a towering trunk with branches and leaves rising a few dozen feet in the air. In the background is a two-story house with a vine-covered porch, a gabled roof with three dormer windows and some trees and other landscape around and near it. The photographer's names and address are printed at the bottom of the mount. On the reverse are stamps with the number and title and the name and address of Souder Brothers book and stationery store. With some stains, primarily at the upper left, and soiling on the image and foxing, soiling, abrasion and curvature of the matte, the general condition is fair.
