Description
A cabinet card photograph, "698. Arroya [sic] Seco, North from Pasadena," Charles B. Waite, ca. 1890s. The view shows the largely pastoral setting with an orchard and wooden structure in the foreground, some residences in the hills to the right and then down in the arroyo in the distance, but there is significant open and undeveloped space, as well. In the distance are parts of the Verdugo Mountains and, in the haze beyond, the San Gabriels. The number, title and photographer's surname are in white at the bottom and the image is pasted down to a thick board. With minor soiling and abrasion, the overall condition is good.
