2013.316.1.1Description
A cabinet card photograph, "Hotel at Redondo, Cal, 1894," unattributed. The view is taken from one side and shows the the large, two-story with attic structure. The front has a covered portico or porch along its entire elevation, there are a couple of towers, many chimneys, and a projecting entrance. In the foreground is a wide stairway with short walls on the sides leading up to an undeveloped area, as if the hotel had just been completed. The title is at the bottom and in pencil on the reverse is "Redondo Beach / Apl 11th -95." The image is heavily faded and there is extensive soiling, some small stains, a missing corner of the matte and rubbing, so the overall condition is poor.Lexicon
