A cabinet card photograph, "Judge Gardiner's Lawn, Adams St.," Los Angeles, Lemuel S. Ellis, ca. 1880s The image is taken from the sidewalk near a driveway to a property with a hedge fence, a circular driveway, a lawn and, interspersed in the latter, a variety of trees, bushes and shrubs. Palm trees are in the median between the sidewalk and the street, but no portion of the jurist's house are in view. The title is written in ink on the reverse, which also includes Ellis' stamp. With soiling, abrasions, dents and curvature of the mount, browning of the image, the overall condition is good.Lexicon
