Description

A cabinet card, L. E. Hillen and Co. leather store, Los Angeles, ca. 1910. The interior shows a narrow leather store as several men stand around with some behind the service counter and in the back. To the left is a wall of shelving with different types of boxes and supplies being sold. In front are wooden crates for the economy cobbler. To the left are several rolls of finished leather and a large flat piece of walrus hide propped up against the wall. On the left are walls that look like bank teller windows with a small hole for transactions. There are also bunches of cords or lashings tied onto hooks on the right wall. An ink inscription on the reverse identifies the store owner, George Wilson. There is moderate damage along the bottom edge, some abrasion and possibly rodent damage. The image is in overall good condition.
