Description

A cabinet card photograph of a cactus garden in Westlake Park, Los Angeles, ca. 1900s. The image is taken from a dirt path wending through a variety of cacti and succulents, while there are banana palms and taller trees in the background. Atop the small hill at the upper right is a large house at the perimeter of the park, now known as MacArthur. In ink on the reverse is "In Westlake Park L.A." With small stains and soiling on the image, fading, stains and soiling, a pinhole and rubbing on the matte, and two very long and deep creases going vertically through the image, the overall condition is fair.
