2011.457.1.1Description
A cabinet card photograph of a couple with horses near a barn, Garden City Photo Company, Los Angeles, ca. 1898. The man, dressed in a dark vest and trousers, whote shirt, boots and a dark hat and the woman, in a white blouse with puffed sleeves, and dark full-length skirt, as well as a white hat, stand with three horses and a foal in a dirt fenced corral near a trough and the wood barn. The barn has wood planks nailed to the tall opening at the center, while a smaller door is open at the left. In the distance are a field and some tall trees on the farm or ranch, but there is no identification. With a small stain, light soiling, creases and edge rubbing to the matte, but a clean image, the condition is good.Lexicon
