Description
A cabinet card photograph of a dirt road in the Monrovia, California area, G. R. King, ca. 1888. The view takes in the road at the lower left, a structure at the right, much open land, and, in the distance, some other homes on farms and orchards. On the reverse is an ink inscription indicating that the image was "Monrovia, Calif. looking south on a misty calley from Hon. E. Spence." Edward F. Spence was a founder of the townsite and a well-known banker. There is some soiling, edge abrasions and some stains on the reverse, and moderate edge abrasions, the condition is fair.
