A cabinet card photograph of a house, ca. 1890s. The image shows the two-and-a-half story house with a partial basement on a slightly-sloping lot and a full porch at the front. Seated on the porch are a woman holding a baby, three small children and a dog. Stacks of wood are at the right and much of a nearby house is at the left. On the reverse is a pencil inscription reading "Mrs. G. Johnson / 8710 Fairview / San Gabriel," but it is assumed that this references the later owner of the photo, as street addresses in the era of the image did not exist in San Gabriel and the address has a post-World War II house on a flat lot. With soiling, creases, abrasions, image discoloration on the reverse, the overall condition is good.
