Description
A cabinet card photograph of a house on a corner lot on Adams Street, Los Angeles, Stanton and Burdick, ca. 1889. The view shows a two-story Queen Anne-style residence with a full attic and a basement on the lot, the entrance to which is at the corner and which is enclosed by a low wood fence. In the median between the streets and sidewalk are tall trees that are closely trimmed. Other plantings within the lot include some trees to the right of the house and smaller bushes, shrubs and, perhaps, cacti. Two mailboxes hang from a post at the corner of the streets. There are stamps for the photographer's names and address for the name and address of Souder Brothers book and stationery store on the reverse. With some minor stains and soiling on the image and foxing, stains and soiling on the reverse, and abrasions and curvature of the matte, the general condition is good.
