Description
A cabinet card photograph of a mother and two small children on the pier at Ocean Park, Santa Monica, ca. 1900s. The trio are standing hand-in-hand against the south side of the pier with its wooden rail behind them. In the distance is the Moorish-influenced Ocean Park Bath House, completed in 1905 for Alexander Fraser by architect Joseph C. Newsom, and portions of other structures are discerned through the fence. The woman wears a full-length white striped dress with a dark belt and button area. There is a toddler in a knee-length dress and head covering and a boy, perhaps four years of age, in a light colored sailor suit and dark cap. On the reverse is an ink inscription, "Ocean Park." With some soiling and staining, as well as abrasions to the matte edge, the condition is fair.
