Description

A cabinet card photograph of Margarita A. Temple (Rowland) in a studio portrait, Temple Block, Los Angeles, ca. 1889. Margarita wears a dark-colored outfit, consisting of a high neck buttoned up bodice with a lace collar and corsage on her neck, scalloped lace skirt, gold bracelets on each wrist, round earrings, and a feathered hat. The background consists of a forest scene with a decorative statue and knob with plants in view towards the right. Photographer was Stanton & Burdick, located at 119 and 126 N. Main St., Temple Block. This may be a wedding photo, when she married Samuel P. Rowland in 1889. With moderate abrasions along the edges, crease, soiling, mositure stains on reverse, and foxing, it is in fair condition.
